Till now Sachin Tendulkar was the last cricketer to score a century in Manchester, who scored an unbeaten 119 against England in 1990.

3 centuries scored in a single day

The drought of centuries that have been going on for 35 years ended that not one, not two, but three Indians scored a century in Manchester. The first name among them is Captain Shubman Gill, who had scored 78 runs till the stumps on the fourth day. On the last day of the Test, Rahul missed the century, but Gill died after completing the century. He scored 103 runs in his innings. This was the 9th of Gill’s Test career and the fourth century of the current series.

After him, Ravindra Jadeja joined this list and shortly after, Washington Sundar also joined the list of Indians who scored a Test century in Manchester. This was the fifth of Jadeja’s Test career and the first century of Sundar’s Test career.
