Team India captain Gill spoke before the fourth Test- ‘Mental fatigue …’

Indian captain Shubman Gill has to undergo a fire test in the first series of captaincy, where all three Tests have been very close against England and lasting for five days. Gill, however, called it more mental fatigue than physical fatigue as a captain.

This series has now been very close then and the tension between the players of the two countries on the field in Lord’s has further enhanced the rivalry.

India is 1-2 behind in the five-match series but Gill is enjoying his captaincy. He is expected to get more luck in the next two Tests.

Gill said on Tuesday, “Honestly, it is physically tedious, mentally tedious. When you are there as a player, you are just thinking about the match. You are waiting for something to happen, the ball is waiting to come to you. When you are captain, you have to think more. You also think about another. So you are more associated with sports mentally.

He said, “I would say that it has been mentally tired, physically it is really less tedious.”
