India vs England third Test is being played at Lord’s from 10 July. Rishabh Pant was involved in the Indian playing XI as a wicketkeeper, but Dhruv Jurael is holding the wicketkeeping on the second day. Actually, on the first day of the match, Pant suffered a finger injury, due to which he had to go out of the field. Now the question is that when Team India comes to batting, Pant will come to batting himself or Dhruv Jurlel, who came as his substitute, will be allowed to bat.
Only 10 players from India will bat
BCCI recently updated that Rishabh Pant would not be able to play in Lord’s Test on the second day due to injury. In such a situation, Dhruv Juril has taken the responsibility of wicketkeeping in his place. Now the question is that if Rishabh Pant is unable to play in the entire match due to injury, then who will do his place?
The ICC rule says that a player who came as a substitute in the middle match can field, wicketkeeping in the match but he cannot bat or bowl. In such a situation, if Pant is not able to return in the Lord’s Test in time, then Dhruv Jurlel will not be given the opportunity to bat in his place. If such a situation arises, the Indian team will play with 10 batsmen, not 11.
How did Rishabh Pant get hurt
In the series against England, Rishabh Pant has appeared in a great form. He has scored 342 runs in 4 innings so far. On the first day in the Lord’s Test, Rishabh Pant was hurt while holding a ball of Jaspreet Bumrah. Due to this injury, Dhruv Jurael was seen doing wicketkeeping in his place.
