IND vs Eng: The fourth match of the ongoing Test series between India and England may have been a draw, but Team India has received a big setback. Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who bravely scored a half -century in the Manchester Test, will no longer play in the fifth and last match of the series. Why Pant is out?

According to the BCCI press release, “Rishabh Pant has been fractured in the right leg during the Manchester Test. The BCCI’s medical team will monitor his recovery and wishes him to get well soon.”

27 -year -old Pant suffered a leg injury on the first day of the fourth Test in an attempt to play a reverse sweep off the ball of England fast bowler Chris Woakes. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where the fracture was confirmed after the scan. Pant was taken from the field to stretcher, but despite this he later returned to the field and played a courageous innings of 54 runs.

N. Jagadishan gets a chance

After Rishabh Pant was out, the BCCI, Tamil Nadu’s wicketkeeper batsman N. Jagadishan has been included in the team. 28 -year -old Jagadishan has been drawing the attention of selectors with his batting and wicketkeeping in domestic cricket and IPL for a long time. He will now be available as an alternative to wicketkeeping with Dhruv Jurlel in the fifth Test starting from 31 July at the Oval ground in London.
