The holding of the One-day International series between Pakistan and Bangladesh seems to be in jeopardy as the Bangladesh interior secretary said it is difficult for the government to give the security clearance.
Talking with media, Bangladesh secretary Abdus Subhan Shakoor said that no decision has so far been taken regarding Pakistan team’s tour of Bangladesh but it is difficult to give security clearance for the series.
Pakistan Cricket Board has been negotiating with the Bangladesh cricket officials for finalizing the schedule and dates of the tour for the last many days.
PCB chief operating officer Saleem Altaf was waiting today for getting the reply from the Bangladesh cricket board.
Talking with Geo News, Saleem Altaf said that he had clearly asked the Bangladesh board to respond within 24 hours but after this statement by their interior secretary, it seems that now the Green Shirts would not go on the tour of Bangladesh.
Pakistan was scheduled to tour Bangladesh from March 7 to play five ODIs and two Twenty20 games, but BCB postponed the tour on the government’s instruction following the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore.
