This is the first time in my life that I am completely ashamed of being a Pakistani, as a nation we have sold our souls to the devil and sold it cheap, our society is running on a system where only the dishonest, corrupt, and morally bankrupt people thrive and those who have honesty and integrity are left to rot. In every walk of life success and survival depends on corruption. The corrupt system very efficiently eliminates those who show any form of honesty or integrity and the society rejects such people like plague.
The country is being governed in mafia style and is ruled by a thug, the hand picked institutional heads operate like area dons and are given targets to achieve to fill the coffers of God father, PCB has been no exception Musharraf appointed Nasim Ashraf and despite heavy criticism he was never removed, Zardari appointed Ijaz Butt who is unaniomously hated by all the cricket fans in Pakistan and despite so many set backs he continues to retain his position. Through nepotism, favoritism, bribery, jingoism, dirty politics and mismanagement these guys have ruined PCB financially and in the process have also destroyed Pakistan cricket.
I have pointed this out many times before during the last three years that there is a pattern in selection through which PCB top brass controls the outcome of a series, the core group of players continue to get selected no matter what there performance has been. Even though there is always a selection committee but the selection is rigged by either Ijaz Butt or the tour selection committee. Pakistan has rarely played to it’s full strength due to this rigging in the selection process.
Why Ijaz Butt needed to have a dummy chief selector? Why he is selecting the team on every tour, if he is honest and has nothing to do with the corruption then why can’t he let the selectors work independently. There is no precedence of such policies in the entire cricketing world.
In past several of my blogging friends have made fun of me when I used to point out corruption and foul play, some said that I was obssessed about match fixing these players are inherently incapable of winning matches, but I have always maintained that form doesn’t change overnight, a bowler bowls beautifully in one innings and bowls all over the place in the next.
Akmal brothers at their best have won us many matches recently but look like street players when we lose, Kamran Akmal all of a sudden fails to take simple catches behind stumps and gives too many byes, Omar Gul can’t get his length and line right and bowls too many no balls, Kaneria gifts one full toss every now and then in an over and bowls too many no balls for a spinner. Malik after scoring a quick 20 or 30 suddenly gets out, Misbah finds the strangest ways to get out, Omar Akmal every now and then takes a suicidal run and throws away his wicket, Salman Butt all of a sudden loses his form and looks like a pedesterian player, Afridi can get away with anything, because over the years he has developed a reputation of being brainless when it comes to batting, but I do find it strange that when he wants to bat sensibly he certainly can, he has displayed it many times during this year. The captains through defensive field placements, wrong bowling changes and poor selection on the tour control the outcome of the match.
These guys are experienced and professionals they should have never been allowed to get away with all this hanky panky by just declaring it being unpredictable or unprofessional.
After the Australian tour PCB gave the world an impression that the team’s poor performance was a result of factionalism in the team and covered up all the corruption. It’s not that Sindhis, Punjabis and Pathans can’t get along with each other in Pakistan if there was factionalism in the team it was only due to two factors, one that a few players like Younis Khan wanted to play honestly and with integrity and two, players like Afridi, Malik, Butt and Yousaf wanted to control the team for the lions share. The former never accepted the job as a dummy and all the later played in the hands of PCB and never showed any integrity.
Afridi’s statement that he knew that certain players were fixing matches and had contacts with Majeed is hillarious, the same guy is also his agent and the same guy has also stated that the Odi series against England is also fixed. Why Afridi didn’t raised his voice in the media when he knew that the guy had links with match fixing mafia? Why he retained him as his own agent? Why he accepted Kamran Akmal as his deputy? The selection of Shahzaib and Hafeez despite their failure in T20 WC was done to rig the Odi and T20 series.
PCB will try it’s best to form a shady inquiry committee and will try to save the maximum number of players but corruption will remain as long as long as people like Ijaz Butt and Yawar Saeed are at the helm of PCB.
Players like Miandad, Wasim Akram, Muddassar Nazar and Majid know what is wrong with Pakistan cricket they will never accept a key position. Only desperate people like Mohsin Khan and Waqar Younis will continue to work for PCB, It’s been in the news that the bookie was related to Pakistan’s batting coach Ijaz Ahmad who also has a shady past.
Waqar has always been one of my favorite players and there is no doubt about his abilities as a bowling coach but he has a past, he was appointed as a bowling coach by Sheryaar Khan, but Nasim Ashraf told him that he won’t travel with the team and will only work with the players in the academy, Waqar resigned and surprising his replacement Mushtaq another man with shady past was sent with the team, anybody with little common sense must have realized that these former players with shady past were only hired because of their links with the bookies, Waqar was not allowed to travel with the team because he was hired by the previous administration and the new management wanted to make new deals.
The current administration first appointed Intikhab another guy who have always been in the center of every match fixing controversy but after heavy criticism from the press and public lost his job but continued to get the same pay for doing nothing. Why??
After firing Intikhab they promoted Waqar as the head coach when he threatened PCB that he will tell the Senate’s committee of sports what happened in Sydney.
Ijaz Butt also brought his close associate Yawar Saeed who also have been in center of every match fixing controversy these guys when they come to Pakistan criminal charges should be brought against them and their properties should be confiscated and they should be thrown in jail for bringing shame to the country nothing short of that would be acceptable to the people of Pakistan.
The team management cannot claim that they didn’t knew anything about the activities of players a simple statement by Yawar Saeed that he warned the players about Mazhar Majeed doesnot in any way gives him a clean chit the fact that the players were meeting him and he was staying with the team incriminates Yawar Saeed and the rest of the team management especially when they both Afridi and Yawar Saeed have admitted in their statements that they warned players about Majeed.
It is evident from the facts that the team management created a corrupt culture in the team, honest players were sidelined and young players were influenced to become corrupt , Umar Amin and Wahab Riaz were openly recieving gifts from Mazhar Majeed for underperforming, the most sad and disappointing thing out of this crisis for me is the fact that Aamer has also sold his soul to the devil. He was the most promising player since Wasim and Waqar for Pakistan but like many of his other feats in which he overtook his predecessors in corruption also he beat them becuase I don’t think Wasim or Waqar did any corruption when they were this young and new in the team.
Pakistani cricket fans are divided by regionalism and these crooks have taken full advantage of it, this is the time that instead of pointing out how many corrupt players are from which region it is time to think rationally and attack the root cause of this corruption and that is the corrupt administration and the corrupt heritage of the team.
We will have to disolve this corrupt board and team and rebuild from scratch with all honesty.
It’s only a matter of few weeks that people will start forget this and will start defending these players or will start to find precedences in other countries to justify the acts of our players or start looking for conspiracy theories, I guess we as fans should not defend these morons and should demand the harshest punishment for them because their crime is nothing short of treason.
This time the evidence against Pak players is overwhelming, the only thing PCB will be able to do is that they will limit the matter to spot fixing and will temporarily ban a few players, It”s time for ICC to get more proactive they will have to suspend Pakistan from International cricket for a while until the whole corrupt organization of PCB is disbanded and Pakistan is forced to form a board managed by people who have spotless reputation.
Yes I am a Pakistani and I am asking ICC to suspend Pakistan from playing international cricket that is the only solution to get rid of this menace.
The fans all around the world deserve to watch pure cricket free of any corruption and in it’s true spirit. We don’t want to watch this WWF version of cricket.

Sohail Khan
Omar Akmal is having a bad series, Kamran is the highest run scorer for Pakistan in the series so far if you are talking from the perspective of inconsistent performance then what about Afridi what has he done so far? Omar Gul also came to form in the last two matches we can’t just ridicule players based on few bad performances.
Before this match a lot of people were criticising Razzaq but today he proved his worth.
I think Ijaz Butt should have said this when the first allegations were levelled, I don’t think he has said anything wrong if ICC can conduct it’s investigations against a team based on the news in a Tabloid then they should better be prepared to conduct it on the basis of statements made by the chief of a member board.
If anything has affected the outcome of a match on this tour that is biased matches and banning of three Pak players, people have been robbed to watch Aamer and Asif bowl the pair was in the headlines for all the good reasons after every match until they got embroiled in that Spot fixing allegation.
At first I also believed that there was some wrong doing by these players but the latest accusation was so frivolous that it damaged the credibility of the first one also.
Even after several weeks no evidence have been given to the media, first they said $150000 was recovered from Butt’s locker then it became $20000 in reality it was only @2500 pounds from butt and 1000 pounds from Aamer no money was recovered from Asif, why the amount was exaggerated in the newspapers and on websites?
Where are those Swiss accounts?
Ijaz Butt should have pressed hard for evidence and should have kept the pressure on ICC on that front.
Given the fact that each time we tour England our team is pushed into some sort of controversy the credibility of all these allegations is increasingly becoming questionable.
Please look at how Umar Akmal wasted balls today and slowed the innings in the 4th ODI against England today just like Kamran Akmal in the last match slowed the innings. These Akmal Brothers need to be thrown out of the team. As for Ejaz Butt, he needs an psychiatric evaluation.
My bllod boils as Pakistan has never used its full potential and have never used the talent thats there.
May Allah Punish those who are playing games, hoarding money and selling Pakistan Cricket.. Ameen
Kamran
Nobody is paying any attention to what Ijaz Butt is saying ICC has already declared English players innocent they are only investigating Pakistani players.
Haha this tour is becoming a joke. Pcb are going to now provide evidence of England players match fixing. This should be good. If this happens then pcb should take the icc to court for licking the ecbs bum. I hope this is true and morgan and broad and swann are involved. WTF would the ecb and icc do then? Ban those 3 for life? I think not. Hope these allegations are true.
Once again Pakistan gave a very unprofessional batting performance, Kamran Akmal, Hafeez and Yousaf all went quickly.
Young Asad Shafiq and Fawad stood their ground and fought back but on an easy pitch they were too defensive.
Umar Akmal after surviving a suicidal runout attempt got out on the next ball something I knew before hand for some odd reason.
Afridi’s run out was as comical as it can be he literally held himself back so that the ball could hit the stumps first, what a shameful way to get out at this level, if some can get away with murder this guy has been getting away with genocide.
Since last week there have been news in the media that Aamir might get a softer punishment if he testifies against those who influenced him into spot fixing, surprisingly while there have been calls from various circles about leniency for Aamir, Ijaz Butt & Co aremaking very different statements, their statements almost tantamount to threats to Aamer that even if he chooses to give evidence against the kingpins in the team and the management PCB will show no leniency toward him.
I am not advocating here for a softer punishment for any player but it is interesting to note that on one hand PCB is continuing to defend the main culprits by giving different excuses and on the other hand they are saying that there will be no leniency shown to Aamir.
Stani
I strongly believe that all those players who revolted against YK are involved in corruption.
It’s strange that the team management is continuing with Kamran Akmal who is also facing investigations but they are not playing Wahab Riaz.
But do reckon they’d have been silly enough to carry on fixing under this spotlight? Maybe some players were not in this squad too?
Stani
Geo Super shows domestic matches.
Mazhar if he was telling the truth he had seven Pak players on his payroll what about the other four, Akmal brothers were still playing.
Where do you watch these guys Wasim? I would like to myself.
I am still surprised the way Tanvir was discarded. If a guy has issues controlling the ball that means he is swinging it a lot. This should be viewed as a positive and he should be helped to control it. It’s such a valuable asset as Anderson is proving. The only other flaw in Tanvir’s cricket was his catching. His batting was good and his throwing arm was superb.
Yep, that’s a good point on Shafiq getting a chance on good wickets. I hope I saw enough to think he’d cut it on difficult tracks too though.
I dont think there were any of Mazhars cohorts left in the side to fix the first two ODIs
…I hope not anyway!
Stani
I mentioned about flaws in his delivery stride, follow through and overall bowling skill when I first saw him bowling in QEA he is a work in progress but right now Pakistan doesn’t have too many options, I wonder why they called him when Junaid Khan was the best performer with Pakistan A and Aizaz Cheema has much better variety for the limited overs format than Irfan that guy if given some attention has the potential to be Pakistan’s James Anderson because his action is quite similar to james Anderson and swings the ball both ways also has one of the most well disguised slower ball I have seen by any bowler. Pakistan has completely wasted Tanvir he was only having some issues with his control over the swing, I think he should be rehabilitated especially when Aamer and Asif won’t be available for some time.
Yes Asad has that spark in him, he is lucky that he got his break during the Odi series where the wickets are totally batsmen friendly everybody in the team has comeback in form on flat tracks.
According to Mazhar the first two Odi’s were fixed and Pakistan was going to lose lets see if they can win the third.
Wasim,
Yes, Irfan is definitely not ready yet. I’m surprised they promoted him so quickly. Not sure what they were thinking. Bumble mentioned on air about the end of his run up…he doesnt jump at all and his stride is very short. He also doesnt keep up right to make the most out of his height. Bowling 85-89mph, you’d think a guy of his height could get a few more mph out himself surely?
I was very impressed with Safiq. Some people you can just tell from the tart that they have it. Umar Akmal had it, Aamer had it and definitely this guy has it. I think he will stay for some time to come.
This guy Asad Shafiq certainly has the class and temprament to play at this level what I liked most about him is that he is brave and nerveless didn’t took any pressure in his first match and is playing superbly in the second.
I have lost the count of matches in which Umar Gul has proven to be just plain rubbish, the guy is just out of form and needs a break to sort things, we can’t dump our experienced cricketers when they get out of form but we should certainly handle them properly and should not play them when they are out of form but I guess right now Pakistan has no choice.
Probably it’s time to recall Sohail Tanvir. The guy got hammered in one match and all hell broke lose and he was kicked out of the team forever.
Irfan proved to be below average as I predicted he collapses at the end of his run up, has no movement and doesn’t use any angles just bowls short and straight. He is a work in progress and I think it was a bit too early for him to be inducted in the national team. Waqar will have to work on his run up as all of his momentum breaks when he collapses while delivering the ball, he will have to teach him the use of the seam only then he can become usefull but he will remain mediocre unless he masters swing bowling.
Eid Mubarak to every one.
Yusuf
It’s painful for everyone. The irony of this whole matter is that the top performers for Pakistan during the last year have been caught, all the rest have been pathetic on field but since they haven’t been caught they are presumed innocent.
People made similar calls for Yousaf, Fawad and Shahzaib what have they done so far?
Yes but who would bring Younis back?
Waqas
Blinded by your patriotism you only picked one news item to form an opinion and ignored all the video evidence, the statement of Yasir Hameed, the recovery of money from the players. Keep your head buried in sand and maintain a false sense of prdie about being Pakistani believe in all the conspiracy theories, Ishallah it will make us a great nation at least in your delusional mind.
Wasim
I feel your pain but honestly you don’t need to be ashamed to be a Pakistani. Look, although I feel about Aamer as he is just a kid, I mean when I was 18 I was crazy but I think they will ban him for a long time. I think they will ban Asif and Butt for life and Aamer might get banned for 2-3 years. The fourth player seems to be Akmal who is also going to get banned for life.
It was a great sight, both Aamer and Asif opening test bowling for Pakistan, I used to love watching them decimate the batsmen but sadly it will never be repeated.
I also think Asif is in deep with this fixing mafia. His ex- girlfriend, Veena, said he was haggling with the bookie from India. He was also caught with drugs and what not. Now their are rumours that Asif is considering asylum in the UK.
Bring Younis Khan back and make him captain of all teams. He is the only one that can clean up Pakistan cricket.
a poor article. no facts just blaming and blaming .and if you are ashmed of being pakistani . get out of the country. we don’t need people who just gets ashamed because of some allegations who havent even proved. we need people who have some brains and don’t just believe on everything media tells them or government tells them. they must be given strict punishment if scotland yard declares them guilty but until that time they are innocent and any pakistani with a sound mind will support them unless the charges are proved. and till now it looks like that they will be cleared as scotland yard has found nothing on them to charge . read the following page :

Have you heard that now the federal government is using tax authorites to black mail the players so that they should not open their mouth.
Those who were blatantly denying everything and were protecting the accused during the initial investigations especially when the statements were being taken have now taken a complete U turn and now they are demanding life bans on all the three accused.
Aamer and Asif should be more truthfull about the situation and should open their mouth without fearing anyone because if they don’t they will be the only ones who will suffer.
Wasim,
Yes, this will be big and go a long way back. We can see how dumb they are on the cricket pitch so we can assume they applied that dumbness to their fixing too! And Shamsul Hasan has the nerve to plead their innocence? Set up?
The ICC should have some sort of rule that if a board is found to be corrupt, they can take it over whilst it is reorganised. I think that is exactly the thing we need. The ICC is too weak though, they give too much power to member boards.
Exactly the points I was going to make wasim. The team just didn’t look good at all. Shazaib does not look like he can produce at this level. And our fielding was poor. Had Morgan Been taken on 13 england would have found it hard. A plus was shoaib akhtars bowling. He needs to work on his fitness tho. Changes that need to be made for the next match.. Hafeez in for riaz. Azhar Ali in for shazaib. Afridi and hafeez to open. Yousaf, u.akmal, azhar Ali, razzaq, fawad, kamran akmal, gul, shoaib, ajmal
Poor team combination and wrong batting order were the main reasons for Pakistan’s loss besides Fawad Alam’s ugly batting.
Why did the team selected Wahab Riaz when he shared only two overs with Omar Gul all four could have been bowled by Omar Gul and the team could have gotten some batting depth if Hafeez was selected and they could have had another spin bowler.
Pakistan again dropped several easy catches and their ground fielding was not as sharp as England who also dropped some catches but saved at least 5-6 certain boundaries.
The team management is still persisting with the same tactics to rig the outcome of the match through selection and wrong batting and bowling order. Playing six bowlers was beyond my comprehension when batting has been our main weakness. Why Fawad was sent a head of Afridi, Razzaq and Umar Akmal?
Pakistan might have played one bowler too much, the pitch has too much turn it also has a quite a bit of pace, since Yousaf got out the run rate has dropped Shahzaib is riding his luck has no clue of the bowling and is just trying to whack the ball without any plan.
And he is gone, has no clue about spin bowling.
Majeed even though says that he did not had Afridi in his pocket but doesn’t say that he is honest he said ” that i could have signed him 5 years ago but to sign him tantamounts to kissing his arse every single day”
Which means that Afridi and a few other might be operating with some other bookie.
I was waiting for this day to come for the past four years, finally for sometime to come Pakistan cricket will be free of any corruption..
Stani
The money recovered from Salman was marked and has been identified, Phone records & Sms’s clearly indicate that Aamer was taking direct instructions from Majeed.
In the coming days the whole mafia will get toasted as this is just the beginning, more players will get questioned.
Imagine if these idiots were communicating through SMS’s in past then by just looking into Majeed’s past phone records will uncover a lot of evidence about past corruption and will help identify other culprits especially when the police and ACSU now knows the signals these guys used for spot fixing and other planned under performance.
An Ex member of the team management staff tipped NOTW about Majeed? Any guesses who that person would be?
Intikhab Alam?
Raqeeb?
Mushy?
My guess is that it was Mushy.
I knew that the players will say that the money in Salman’s locker is there sponsorship money, first it was for his sisters dowry then it became the sponsorship money, it’s all bullshit, now they will say that the whole team was pooling in for his sisters dowry.
Salman Butt is a dead man I don’t think people of Pakistan will spare him.
The shameless defence of these players by Ijaz Butt and Wajid Shams-ul-hassan is a clear evidence that the Management and the government both are involved in this corruption and control the players.
Why Yasir Hameed is reluctant to admit what he said about his team mates. Clearly shows that PCB is fascist orgainsation honest players can’t even open their mouth, poor guy back tracked from his statement not because of the fear of ICC but his own team mates and the crooks in PCB.
Looking forward to the news of the world paper 2mro. Apparently they will reveal
A conversation between a Pakistan batsmen and mazhar on which the player says he will get out quickly. this was in the Asia cup. I think that rules out shahid afridi.
Wasim, I think if the money ties in Butt, then the no-balls, provided the date of the video is proved, tied in Asif and Amir.
As for the blue t-shirt, I will have to watch the video again but certain colours can give the impression of being black in artificial street lighting. I think the reason they did not pull up Wahab is because he could have just said i was just wearing the jacket and nothing more.
The Sydney Test will take longer to delve into. As you mentioned, unless there was a bet placed in this case then they cannot arrest Majeed. They may arrest him for his money laundering but again, it will take time to investigate. There was no choice but to let him go as they had no lawful reason to keep him. I’m certain he will be arrested again.
I think Akmal was cleared because the arrests were made for this incident and Kamran was not involved it seems. He was probably involved in the Sydney one if there was a fix but that will come with the investigation into that.
I think the video is easy to make. They can have a camera on their person or take along a suitcase with a camera inside. With todays quality cameras you can easily disguise them.
To be honest, I hope Ijaz Butt and the High Commissioner carry on supporting the players because when the players are found guilty, these two inept granddads will be shown up too. Shown up enough to get the sack hopefully!
Umar akmal got a nasty cut on his nose in the warm up just before the match. I reckon he’ll be back in the team for the t20′s in place of azhar Ali. Hafeez will keep his place as he can bowl. If that old somerset player can do that to us then that clearly means our bowling is no where near strong enough. Our batting will have to improve significantly if we are to have any chance of beating England. Afridi to open? Why not? We have nothing to lose and we normally lose wickets at the start anyway so why not go for it. If it comes off then we have a great chance off winning. One thing I like about afridi is that he is willing to change and doesn’t just stick with a game plan If it isn’t working, he’s a pro active captain. Yousaf should bat at 3 and umar akmal 4. Shazaib and afridi opening. Hafeez at 5 with fawad alam in at 6. Kamran akmal and raZzaq at 7/8 depending on situation. Gul, ajmal and akhtar. That would be my t20 team.
Shahzaib and Fawad played superbly against Somerset the rest of the team failed. Umar Akmal was dropped or rested it’s not sure but the move paid off as Fawad Alam played a very resposnsible innings, Shahzaib who was a complete failure earlier this season finally found some form and played to his potential but he played some big knocks in the warm up matches before the T20 WC and before the Australian series but failed in every main match, I hope this time he carries his form into the main series.
Hafeez as usual proved to be shit. The pace department is looking thin with the absence of Aamer and Asif, nothing much has changed in batting.
Aamir, Asif and Butt have been dropped from the tour, this was expected and it was also expected that Ijaz Butt and the High commissioner will declare the players innocent. The strong support for these players despite some damning evidence against these players only proves that PCB high officials are also involved,.
Kamran
If you look at Ghuma’s performance it has been pathetic at best I have seen him play he is highly over rated. Other than Asad Shafiq, Hammad Azam and Aamer Sajjad, Junaid Khan and Yasir Shah nobody else has done anything of note. The 7 footer has only taken two wickets so far in the series his economy rate has been ok but he doesn’t have any wicket taking deliveries and if you look at the performances of the players I mentioned even they are mediocre and inconsistent and not ready for the highest level.
This team selection was totally wrong, there are many other players who are much better than the players selected for the A team, mst of these players are playing with the A team for the first time, I don’t know why we changed the team which did so well against Australia and England, I know some of those players got selected with Pakistan team but still a lot of good players have been left behind.
Stani
There is more to it then what meets the eye, the ease with which these videos are made and the fact that no charges have been filed against the main culprit the fixer it makes the whole thing very suspicious, there is no doubt that fixing took place but I doubt that it was Mazhar from whom the money was taken, I think he knew from some other source that Asif and Aamir are going to bowl no balls at some point may be the event was fixed through another party and Mazhar tried to cash on it.
Why charges haven’t been filed against him when he admitted that he made over 800,000 pounds by fixing Sydney test? If the authorities have failed to find any evidence regarding betting activity taking place on no balls for sure they can find plenty of betting activity related to Sydney test.
Pakistan has lost many matches since the Sydney test in dubious manner why Mazhar only referred to just Sydney test and one match in Asia cup?
The ease with which the videos have been made especially the one where he is sitting in front of a table in his drawing room and counting money the clearity of the video and voice quality and the angle of the video suggests the presence of a third person and proper camera.
Another thing which bothers me is that both Aamer and Asif have been the best performers for Pakistan in last few series Pakistan’s main reason for losing the matches was their batting no evidence is there to link any batsman with the fixing activity, Mazhar was so eloquently naming players why didn’t he mentioned the name of the batsmen who were the main cause of our spectecular defeats.
Why the best performers have been named? Even the easiest target Kamran Akmal have been cleared, and Wahab Riaz who recieved the jacket stashed with 10000 pounds even he is not being investigated.
From the videos it is clear that on both occassions Salman Butt said something to both Aamer and Asif before they bowled noballs the money has also been recovered from his room, my guess is that Salman Butt was the main culprit he has to meet the targets given to him by the top management and the players have to obey him or they get sidelined like Zulqernain.
Confusion is surrounding the investigation process of spot fixing, initially seven players were named later reduced to four, and now Kamran Akmal has been cleared of match fixing scandal.
The London police has not pressed charges against anybody, the fixer Majeed was also released on bail pending investigation it is being said that there is no evidence against him to press criminal charges against him the authorities must prove that betting activity took place on the no balls which Aamer and Asif bowled.
One thing which baffles me is that why Wahab Riaz’s name was not included in the four named when he was clearly recieving a jacket stashed with 10000 pounds? London police should clearify this because if the jacket didn’t had any money in it or that video was taken at some other time then the credibility of all these videos become questionable. The fixer is wearing a blue Tshirt while taking money in the car and is wearing a black one when he hands over the jacket to Wahab.
The video claims that he went straight to meet the players after recieving the money then how did he changed his Tshirt.
None of these video’s are dated.
This may make their credibility questionable as they could have been made after the noballs took place.
The only damning evidence is the 50,000 pounds found in Salman Butt’s room, his excuse about the money is just stupid nobody goes on for shopping with such large amounts of cash and that too in so many different currencies.
If the dates of the phone conversations in which Mazhar predicts the timings of the no balls are before the date on which no balls were bowled then nothing more is required to prove that corruption took place. That can be easily checked from the phone records.
Salman Butt walked upto to both Aamer and Asif and said something to them after which both of them bowled those noballs. On both occassions he was quick to bring sawdust to give the impression that the bowling crease was slippery.
It was also mentioned that Majeed helped players to open swiss accounts why the details about those accounts have not come out so far.
If no money has been recovered from Aamer or Asif then the only person who will possibly get incriminated will be Salman Butt.
The way that Mazhar Majeed deliberatelt targets the young or the newer players is scary. He could see Umar Amin and Wahab Riaz have just broken into the team so he decided to sweeten them up in that video.
I think the ICC will have tod od something because it doesnt seem the PCB will take it upon themselves to do so. From what Butt is saying, they will try to find excuses. From the way Amir and Saman Butt were smiling this morning, it seems they have already been told of how they plan to get them off.
We cannot accept this as Pakistan fans.
Not under 19 I meant Pakistan a? I have a feeling he will make it into the team soon. At 17 he is bowling mid 80′s and looks to have a good strong action. Apparently he isn’t bad with the bat either. Anyway on shahid afridi I don’t think it’s fair to slate him about saying what he did. Butt has done what he has and afridi will be captain an let’s just hope nothing like this happens again. Latest news is that apparently some England players have said that they won’t play if the seven Pakistani players involved in the match fixing scandal play. Let’s just hope that the ECb say fine don’t fuckin play LOL. Atleast then it’ll be a level playing field. My team for odi’s would be.. Farhat, azhar Ali, umar akmal, yousaf, asad shafiq, shahid afridi, fawad alam, sarfraz, gul, akhtar, irfan. (Azhar Ali can open in my opinion and fawad alam because spin bowling options usually wrk in England. Look at yardy vs Australia.) for the t20′s yousaf out, afridi up to 5. Azhar Ali 3. Shazaib opening. Razzaq in for irfan. That gives another batting option.
Why didn’t he stated the fact to the media like Rashid Latif or YK if he is that honest.
Fayaz Butt isn’t good enough for international cricket. There are plenty of bowlers who can play for Pakistan. Mohd Irfan, Aizaz Cheema, Sohail Khan, Talha, Sami, Tanvir, Sohail Tanvir, Junaid Khan and Shoaib Akhtar.
I have no Idea when U19 is touring England.

I don’t think there is a conspiracy theory this time the evidence is too compelling. I don’t feel for Aamir at all, it’s not about bowling a few no balls these guys have done a lot worse, Who dropped Ponting on zero it was Aamer, he has been switching gears in different innings in one innings he is brilliant and in the next he becomes ordinary, the line and length changes, this has been my biggest objection on Aamer, Asif and Gul. Take any match these guys pick only one innings to perform in the next innings they just become toothless their length changes they fail to get any movement and allow tail enders to bat for hours and score 150-200 runs. ICC is currently investigating Pakistan’s last 80 matches. This thing has been going on for the past three to four years, if these guys have no feelings for the fans why should we feel for them.
Look at Asif how many chances he got but chor chori sey jaye hera pheri se na jaye. We will have to be ruthless with these guys and should show no sympathy at all.
He hasn’t done anything wrong why would he need to arse save? He’s just stating facts. That’s why butt wanted him out and was planning this match fixing in the odi’s
Fayaz butt can also bat. He has a bit of pace and is only 17. Btw wasim when is the under 19 tour to England?
@Hilal
What is the difference between the statement of Afridi and Yawar Saeed both tried to prove themselves innocent by saying that they warned the boys about not having any contact with Majeed.
In the current setup only players who were willing to dance to the tunes of Ijaz Butt are selected for key roles. If Afridi knew it then why didn’t he blew the whistle before things went out of hand, his silence in this matter was selfish and criminal and to me looks nothing more than an arse saving excuse.
Feel for aamir a little bit. Don’t think he would have planned to do this but he prbly thort what harm can bowling a few no balls do for that much money. I think butt and asif must have persuaded him. Anyway let’s just wait and see how this unfolds. Wasim is there any chance the under 19 boys can be called to play in the odi’s? Maybe somone like fayaZ butt can be given a chance early on or that bhatti dude. I take it irfan will come in aswel.
I wish so badly that I wake up tommorow and see that this whole thing was a saazish against the Pakistan side and that the video was made after the mornings play ( which ary news are suggesting could be the case) but that is impossible. Why would the news of the world do that and risk being sued many millions and being closed down.
Take a stand now and ban all cricketers involved for life. No lifting any bans aswel. Be it amir or butt. Aamir could have, should have and would have been the best and most successful fast bowler ever but it has still got to be done for the good of the game. We have let players get away with too much.
@ hilal agree with what you are saying entirely. Afridi is not to blame for this whole spot and match fixing scandal. Spot fixing was done for money and out of greed. The match fixing was going to be done to try and get Shahid afridi out. Had they not been caught i gaurentee you afridi would have gone after this series and butt would be full time captain which would make it easier for him to fix matches. Butt is a greedy son of a gun and deserves every punishment he gets. He told amir n asif to bowl no balls in return for probably about 10,000 each. It’s good this has come out now before butt had a chance to corrupt pakistani cricket fully.
this time ICC and British Police are involved in inquiry , let more details to come about and only then all u said would be pretty relevant ,accurate and must be done act. Yes we need stern action after due course of law is prevailed. By the way take Afridi out if u believe all what is said by Majeed is true as he said these guys want to get Afridi out and will work for Butt to make him captain there as well, please read news of the world on 2 ODIs are sold. BY the way since u must have record of all previous bowling of Amir, please try to find out if he ever bowl no ball by that distance?
Hilal.
