After dismissing England for just 146/43.1 overs New Zealand are off to a flying start Brendon McCullum is just butchering the English attack. If the Kiwis achieve their target within 25 overs they will lead the group B.

Today’s match was just a dead rubber for England they were already through to the semi finals, the English team didn’t put up a fight what surprised me the most even when they were eight down they didn’t took the batting power play, it kind of gave me the impression that they wanted to help out their brothers from a different mother to reach the Semis. It was a must win match for New Zealand as Srilanka’s NRR was better than the Kiwis. Anyways the Sri Lankans are certainly out of the tournament,  the Kiwis will stay at the Wanderes and will face the number 2 team from group A.

This gives Pakistan an opportunity to try out Asif and Rao against Australia. The semi final will be played on a new track at the Wanderes which will make Pakistan a bit indifferent about the choice of venues.
