The first match of ICC T20 WC will be played between England and Netherlands in a few hours from now.
England are favorites to win this match all of their key players appear to be in good form especially their bowling line up, England also has a good batting line up and some of their players were quite successful in IPL this year.
The Netherlands team was bolstered by the inclusion of Dirk Nannes who was rated as the fastest bowler by Sehwag recently he had a successful IPL season this year but besides him and ten Doeschate they don’t have any more experienced or reliable players in their team but the Dutch no matter which sport they play are very professional about it.
Can the Dutch create an upset ?
Very unlikely in my opinion. But any thing is possible in a T20 Game where just one breakout performance by a single player can win a match.
For Pakistani fans todays match will be quite important from the point of view that both of these teams are in their group.

The toss is going to take place in the a few minutes.
England 1 Ravi Bopara, 2 Luke Wright, 3 Rob Key, 4 Owais Shah, 5 Paul Collingwood (capt), 6 Eoin Morgan, 7 James Foster (capt), 8 Adil Rashid, 9 Stuart Broad, 10 Ryan Sidebottom, 11 James Anderson .
England chief medical officer, Nick Peirce, has said that “Kevin had been making excellent progress with the management of his right Achilles injury and had shown substantial improvement. However today he has experienced a degree of pain which medical assessments have suggested may be related to some aggravation from his lower back.”
Kevin Pieterson is injured and will not play in todays match, a few early wickets by Dirk Nannes can put huge pressure on England. It might rain at Lord’s today and if England bowl second the wet out field might cause problems for them.
Can the Dutch cause an upset in the curtain raiser match of the T20 WC?
This question is on everyone’s mind and we will soon find out. English batsmen should try to play Dirk Nannes 4 overs carefully and try to milk their inexperienced bowlers Netherland’s team do not have any quality spinner in their line up a problem which will hurt them a lot.
It’s already raining at Lords and the opening ceremony has been cancelled the match will begin in 12 minutes from now, their is no news about the toss yet, so a wet out field will cause problem for the bowlers from the first innings, it will be hard to grip the ball for spinners.
GO Netherland!
