PCB chairman Ejaz Butt has accused Chris Board of lying in claiming that security was lax for the visiting team and officials in Lahore.
Butt said, “It is a big lie that there were no policemen. A commando jumped over Broad and saved his life. The commando was hurt so if there was no policeman, how come Broad was saved?
Butt needs to shut the fuck up.
It’s true that there was ample security for the whole entourage and 6 brave police officers gave their lives away and 15 got seriously injured while trying to protect the match officals and the players, but this is also a fact that that the route was not secured due to which the attack became possible and the attackers fled un harmed.
It is natural for the SriLankans and the foreign match officials and media personell to feel betrayed since the promises of a presidential level security were not kept by PCB.
One can argue that even a presidential level security cannot deter such attacks but a promise is a promise.
I strongly believe that if the route was secured and all the exit points were sealed off this attack would not have been possible.
PCB’s incompetent management and the corrupt Punjab government due to their negligence in the security have caused great harm to the future of Pakistan cricket and the future of tourism in Pakistan.
Butt should resign with immediate affect he is not the right person for this job he lacks the maturity required for this job.
The only person who should be blamed for this incident is the Mother fucking governor of Punjab Salman Taseer that son of a bitch transferred all the senior police officers who have been planning the security of the touring party the night before the attack and replaced them with some incompetent and corrupt officers.
He also diverted a major chunk of the security force to follow the PML-N MP’s who are preparing for a long march.
The Sri Lankan team and the foreign match officials and media personell have every right to be disgruntled over the lapse in security. Ejaz Butt’s mouth should only open to oplogize, his days are numbered anyways.

Danish your post was off topic and the content reminded me of somebody else who used to right here on this blog. But I dont know about Rahman, Mansoor is good. You are right Saeed Ajmal has not done anything spectacular so far.
Next time if you want to start a new discussion please submit your post for the main section.
When looking to define a quality spinner we need to consider two aspects…………….
1) They need to be skilful in the sense that there has to be the threat of some mystery and uncertainty attached to their bowling.
2) They have to be able to make an impact and the ability to dominate and turn the tables ie spinning a side to victory in the last innings of a test match or picking up some astonishing figures like 6-45 in which us bloggers have something to write home about.
Saqlain , Muhsy and Warne were ideal examples of a quality product in which they had the skills and self determination to change the outcome of a game.
Danish Kaneria may have had 200 + wickets next to his name but what really matter inside is how many times had Kaneria been able to dominate proceedings and turn a match on it’s head because many of the wickets Kaneria captures arrive in meaningless circumstances ie 4-175 . He seems to be more of a container than a wicket taker as his poor average and strike rate has shown. No wonder people are losing patience and trust in him. He ticks the first category of being skilful for certain but hasn’t got the mental ego to dominate in the same manner as Shane Warne and be able to change the outcome of a match.
Alternatively Imran Tahir is an excellent prospect. He is not only more mysterious in terms of having a better leg break , vicious googly and a some of his own inventions but has the ability to turn the tables and dominate proceedings like a true “matchwinner” . In fact the amount of first class records were Tahir has been able to turn the tables and claim astonishing figures is uncountable. This highlights the vivid impact spinners can bring to a team and clarifies the difference between a quality and average spinner.
Generally speaking Tahir is a true pleasure to watch in the county arena. There are shades of Abdul Qadir in his cunning approach to the wicket and the way he can bamboozle batsmen with his magic is an admirable art. However, he seems to be unable to play for Pakistan due to him spending majority of his time in Southafrica and England which is a real pity as in my opinion he was the best spinner Pakistan has had in the locker since Mushtaq Ahmed . But he has set his desires on playing for Southafrica and all the best for him.
Not trying to be biased to Sialkot but talking from a technical quality perspective I recommend Mansoor Amjad and Abdul Rehman for the national side. Yasir Shah seems to an interesting prospect but from the little I’ve seen from his he seems to be another “Kaneria”. The offspinner Ajamal seemed to be another fascination but was highly ineffective in the 10 odd ODI matches he’s played. Usman Qadir has been tipped for the next Warne in international cricket but 5 years or so will have to be awaited for his arrival. But one thing has to be established for certain and that is Pakistan must utilise at least 1 specialist in every format because specialists are the ones who are claimed to “matchwinners” not bits and bobs like Malik and Afridi etc.

We are all entitled to our opinions, I am fine with that, but remember the saying better be safe than sorry.
Isn’t it a shame that not even a single terrorist was injured or got captured, they just walked their way out of the place, and you must have seen that video on geo where three terroists carrying guns were fleeing away on a motor bike and a police car passed right next to them and pretended as if they didn’t saw anything they didn’t stopped anybody.
The entourage had protection but the route was not protected they were sitting ducks.
Imagine if you had survived such an attack what would have been your views then?
Wasim : it was not presidential level security the situation could have been avoided all together and Punjab government deserves all the blame.
In such circumstances we have to accept that probably nothing could be done but the grace of the almighty. They (terrorists) came with a cunning plan and were attacking from all different directions and magnitudes so it was a situation in which it was virtually unavoidable. As much as I want to admit it could have been prevented I have to disagree with u on this note.
Danish
Welcome to cricketfiles. I will add you to the blogroll at my earliest.
Danish we don’t have to be defensive about this security lapse, it’s true that people laid their life for the protection of the touring foreigners but you will agree that their was no route protection, it was not presidential level security the situation could have been avoided all together and Punjab government deserves all the blame.
Even though some brave police officers laid their lives but still I consider those players to be very lucky to have survived this attack they have every right to be upset at the security arrangements.
Salam Wasim Saqib
Interesting modernised layout of cricket files.
Looking really cool
I agree in one sense that Broad should be grateful he survived and the police even sacrificed their lives for his authority. Therefore one can question why did he have to make such petty excuses and slam the security?
However we shall also consider this to be wrong as there were security lapses as officials have so correctly pointed out. There seemed to be less cover for the tests matches and as Imran Khan quoted: “This was a failure of security which PCB had guaranteed “.
But cricket to be returning to Pakistan seems to be a distant dream now as this catastrophic affair has highlighted the implications that Pakistan isn’t a hostile environment for cricket tours to take place or perhaps shall never be. UAE and away venues seems to be our best bet which is an utter pity for the patriotic and cricket mad nation. But what else can u do in such under such high suicidal climate?

Good to hear from you after a long while, the blogging community was missing you.
Fans don’t have the power to kick these bastards out they will go when Zardari will leave.
There was no excuse for the security lax, it is an unpardonable crime, Butt, Miandad and Salman Taseer should be put in a bus and then bullets should be sprayed on their bus and if they survive, then one should ask them about their views on the Lahore attacks.
Kasim saheb
Sorry for replying late.
I have lost all hope in Pakistan and Pakistan cricket, unless and until people will get rid of corrupt politicians like Zardari, Sharif bros and corrupt army generals nothing is going to change.
The judiciary should be free and fair that is a must for the country to get back on track.
As long as our rulers will have the power to hand pick and appoint people of their own choice in key institutions corruption and incompetence cannot be eradicated from the country.
Butt and Taseer will only go when Zardari will leave there is no accountability, no pride, no sincerity, and no honesty.
Te country is on the verge of disintegrating let’s hope and pray that the people of Pakistan wake up and take the matters in their own hands.
Hi Wasim… first of all… great new look!
Absolutely agree with you… How much further shocking can his statements be! Ridiculous… The fans should kick these useless administrators out. period.
You are absolutelly right. Salman Taseer should be fired as the Governor of Punjab and tried for failing to provide/tranferring the responsible persennels despite having recieved intelligence report that several terrorists have entered Lahore and are planning an attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team and their entourage.
But this is asking, expecting or hoping too much in Pakistani politics/society
And this idiot Ejaz Butt
Whatever Chris Broad or other umpires and foriegn officials are saying is nothing wrong. As a matter of fact, they are being very charitable
If, instead, Ejaz Butt would have been in such a situation, I wonder what would his reaction be?
Please spare us with more embrassment and resign, Ejaz Butt, before you are kicked out like most of your predecessors
