Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) breathed a sigh of relief Tuesday after the Indian cricket board assured them that India will visit the country early next year as scheduled.
A PCB spokesman said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Shashank Manohar has assured PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt that the Indian team will tour Pakistan to honour its commitment as per the International Cricket Council’s Futures Tour Programme.
‘While talking with Ijaz Butt on phone, Monohar said he has written to his government for the clearance of the tour. He added that BCCI is expected to get the reply in next 10 to 12 days and the PCB would be informed accordingly,’ said the spokesman.

I completely agree with you Scorpi and I am glad at the mature responses from the people of both countries, the main objective of the terrorists was to bring both countries back in a standoff position so far the majority of common people have disapproved it and hopefully the governments of both countries will co-operate with each other to curb terrorism in the region.
I think this tour will indeed go. Lot of trouble now on the political front and the citizens of Pakistan need to be very worried by forces within and outside Pakistan that seem to want to disintegrate this region into pieces. My guess is India is next in line with China and Russia.
Pray that things go well between the two countries.
Thanks SB
I hope every thing gets normalized, England should visit India.
As regards India and Pakistan I think they should resolve the current issue first cricket is not that important, the establishments of both countries should co-operate with each other sincerely to find out the truth instead of starting the cold war again.
If the confidence is restored we will have plenty of opportunities in future to play cricket.
Let’s see…it is too early and everybody is tender.
The first task is to ensure England comes. If they do not, then we can rest assured that this region will not see much international cricket.
The region has to be normalized in cricketing terms. I hope India and Pakistan will find a way to keep playing.
Eid mubarak.

After the heinous terrorist acts in Mumbai,if there was a chance I think that has also finished,I think the tour will not happen.
If it does go ahead – plenty of things can happen between then and now – it’s a good thing.

Rawalpindi Express will limp its way to the stadium if the tour takes place, he is a stumbling block against his own progress.

From PCB point of view yes because the renovation work at Pindi stadium is still in progress, from India’s point of view Rawalpindi or any other city there is not much of a difference as the terrorists have struck almost every major city in the last year, although Pindi and Islamabad have been hit on numerous occasions.
It will mostly depend on the advice of the India’s high commissioner to Pakistan.

I also suspect the same, but today the terrorists attacked Mumbai a city where some of the Champions league matches were scheduled 80 innocent lives were lost and 250 were injured, there were some hostages also taken and according to cricinfo the gunmen were hunting people with British passports, its really sad the world is becoming a dangerous place, but I think all the countries should conduct business as usual and should not back down from any thing because of these cowardly acts.
I feel the Govt. will not allow. There were 3 bomb blasts outside the Gaddafi just last week.
the stumbling block was rawalpindi or rawalpindi express?
I think the stumbling block was Rawalpindi. Now that they have struck it off, the tour will go ahead.
