PCB appoints Aqib Javed as assistant coach

PCB has appointed Aqib Javed as assistant coach of Pakistan team for a period of two years, Aqib was a coach in the PCA and will now assist Intikhab Alam . Aqib has played 22 tests and 163 Odi’s for Pakistan, he said that he will be paying special attention to the young pacers, he will take charge of his new assignment before the Abu Dhabi ODI series.
Aqib has produced good results while working with the PCA and coaching the U19 team, the popular choice for the job was Waqar Younis or Wasim Akram but both are quite busy with their international commentary assignments and perhaps were not considered.

PCB reversed the decision to hire Saleem Malik on ICC’s pressure.
I wonder why the administrators can’t think straight, if they thought Saleem was going to be helpful then they should have continued with the decision regardless of ICC’s pressure otherwise there was no need to hire him in the first place, if ECB can do it then why not PCB, but by first making a hasty decision and then reversing it immediately on ICC’s pressure shows that PCB management doesn’t have any foresight they can’t foresee the repercussions of their controversial decisions, it also shows how spineless they are in their decision making.
Its a poor and hasty decision by PCB to appoint Saleem Malik as Coach of national academy, Saleem has a tainted past and will not be a good influence on young cricketers, ICC will certainly object to this decision, although earlier this month Mushtaq Ahmad was also appointed by ECB as England’s new spin coach and Malik’s ban was lifted by the court so PCB can legally hire Malik, there are very few batsmen in the country of Malik’s caliber and he was one of the most influential figure in domestic cricket before he was banned if he works sincerely he can be a lot more helpful to young cricketers but I seriously doubt his integrity and I think it has been a hasty decision by PCB and it seems that the job was ready for him, during the last few months of Nasim Ashraf’s tenure I predicted that PCb is planning to bring him in as a coach, PCB never pursued the case seriously against him and now when he is free of legal troubles they wasted no time in taking him on board.
Saleem Satta is being appointed as the chief coach of the PCA replacing Aqib Javed, earlier the job was offered to Aamir Sohail who is more interested in becoming the cheif selector, the next chief selector will be either Abdul Qadir, or Aamir Sohail.
Good choice I may say, Wasim… Nice
All I know is that he will be far more productive than Lawson, he is very hardworking and stays away from petty politics.
i think aj is good choice…waqar has problem in running into team players…and wasim i think is too busy to devote full time…
aj being low profile can work without taking or giving extra pressure which will be good for pak team…thats what i feel from distance…
