The rain robbed 3D of victory, after 8.1 overs Delhi were 94/1 and Veeru was going great guns batting on 47 off just 19 balls, the platform was set for a 200+ score, but the rain gods had a different plan, the rain interrupted the game and kept on pouring for quite some time after a long delay when the match resumed the match was reduced to 11 overs per side, Delhi lost a few quick wickets and James Hopes bowled a perfect last over giving away only three runs the move to send Mahroof a head of Malik who was playing in place of injured Asif didn’t paid, Malik has been really unfortunate he hasn’t really gotten any chance to bat in the matches he played, he doesn’t fit in Delhi’s plans.
Punjab XI were given a target of 123 in 11 overs, McGrath bowled a perfect first over giving away only three runs and Sangwan removed SE Marsh the dangerman on the first ball of his over, the Delhi fielders were charged up and saved quite a few runs and took some excellent catches, Yuvraj promoted himself to #3 and was in no mood of wasting any time to settle down he scored a quick 23 off 8 balls with three sixes and one 4 and was out trying to hit McGrath for a third six, Sehwag brought Mishra who removed Hopes who holed out to Malik in the deep, Delhi were at top, and Sehwag decided to bring on himself a move which might have been prompted by the indifferent form of Mahela in the tournament so far, Jayawardene struck three consective fours off Sehwag and Pomerbach struck him for a six on his last ball, Sehwag was guilty of bowling to fast he should have bowled a bit fuller, it was a poor decision from Sehwag he should have used one of his regular bowlers, through out the tournament his handling of the bowlers has been questionable and he has always had one bowler short, the duo off Jayawardene and Pomerback scored 50 off just 19 balls and took their team a head of the D/L calculation. The rain interrupted the match again and although the play could have continued but the umpires thought otherwise and Delhi lost the match by D/L method.
After 7.5 over the score was 88/3 and one dot ball could have made delhi the winner but Jayawardene struck a six on midwicket off the bowling off Bhatia who bowled excellent first five balls but bowled the last one short of length and Jayawardene took full advantage of the opportunity.
Punjab is almost certain to qualify for semis now and Delhi after this loss is in precarious position.

Scorpicity
Welcome on cricketfiles,I think Rajasthan has secured their place in Semis.Their is an outside chance for Delhi to make the final four, but Kolkata although hypothetically if every thing goes their way they can also make it to the final four but given their batting problems its highly unlikely.
I was routing for DC, KKR and Delhi and it seems all of them might lose the racr for semis. Delhi lost a perfect chance of improving their RR by a bigger margin, I fail to understand why AB was sent a head of Dhawan.
We can’t tell who will surely qualify yet… even if rajasthan the leaders, lose their next 4 matches straight… there is the possibility of a knockout for them. But seriously, the league level should be finished with 6 matches.
