Six matches have been played so far and the Kolkata knight riders are on top of the points table after having won both of their matches the matches from now on will be more interesting as the some of the International players who did not join their respective teams due to home duties will be joining some time this week.

The Bangalore Royal Challengers (BRC) will get boosted by the arrival of Dale Steyn, Misbah ul Haq and Abdur Razzak, this team has played two matches so far they lost against (KKR) and won against (MI)  this team lacks the fire power in the batting and got hurt in the bowling when Nathan Bracken was withdrawn because of an injury, their first match was a rout and in the second one they managed to win in a nail bitting finish. Rahul Dravid is very conservative in his approach he picked all the solid test players and formed this team with a defensive mind set, now he will have to be a bit more imaginative and aggressive  with his batting line up.

Chennai Super Kings

This team has played one match so far which they comfortably won, MK Hussey who was preferred over Stephen Fleming scored a scintillating 116  the second highest score in the tournament so far,this team will get boosted by the arrival of Albie Morkel and Ntini, Dhoni although failed with the bat but he is an excellent captain he led the team well, this team lacks the firepower in bowling especially as far as local talent is concerned it will be hard for Dhoni to pick four international players each time he will take to the field.

Deccan Chargers

This team has played one match and they lost it in a nail biting finish the match was played on a mine field of a pitch against (KKR) this is one of the more balanced teams in the league and will get further boosted by the arrival of Shahid Afridi, they only lack a bit in Pace department is single dimensional all three pacers are lefties, this team id one of my favorites to reach the final four.

Delhi Daredevils

This team has so far played one match which they comfortably won, their pace attack is the most disciplined and will get a further boost with the arrival of Asif, their batting line up all depends on local talent however they will get a boost when Shoaib Malik and AB deviliers will arrive, its a balanced team but lacks depth in batting if Sehwag and Gautam fail it will be hard for them to score big totals but then again they have one of  the best bowling attack. Their first match was  low scoring  against a weak Rajasthan team, its yet to be seen how this team fares against quality outfits.

Delhi Daredevils 132 for 1 (Gambhir 58*, Dhawan 52*) beat Rajasthan Royals 129 for 8 by 9 wickets

Kings XI Punjab

This team has disappointed me the most, its the most expensive team in IPL but  lack of leadership from Yuvraj and some indisciplined bowling has let the team down, this team entered the competition as one of the favorites to win it all, they will have to make a few changes in their line up, I fail to understand why Chawla was played in the second match when he gave away 19 runs in one over in the first match they played, Same goes for SreeSanth except for giving nasty looks he has nothing to scare a batsman in two matches his econ rate is almost 12, he needs to be kicked out but it will be hard for Kings as they spent almost a million to acquire this baboon. In todays match Kings were a bit unlucky as Aleem Dar made several poor judgements at least 4 decisions went against the Kings. It was a Shane day, Both Shanes performed brilliantly Shane watson single handedly won the match although in the end he got some support from the young Jadeja India’s U19 hero.

Kolkata Knight Riders 

SRK’s Knight Riders is the favorite to win it all so far at least, the team is well balanced and is further going to get a boost in batting and bowling when Gayle, Butt and Umar Gul will join this team, Gul and Ishaant will perhaps be the most deadliest opening duo in the tournament, the team has a perfect blend of youth and experience with two of the games best captains are in the team, Ponting and Ganguly, it will be hard for them to pick the four International players, McCullum is in good form so Gayle or Butt will have to wait, David Hussey single handedly won the match against Dare Devils and Hafeez is so far the most economical bowler in the tournament, so Gul will also have to wait.

Rajasthan Royals

The underdogs who were written off by almost every one, have played two matches and have one win and one loss, they are going to get reinforcement in the shape of Younis Khan and Smith, the first match they lost against the daredevils was mainly because they didnt put enough runs on the board poor running between the wickets was the main reason for their failure, and Shane Warne couldn’t out fox Gambhi, this team has an outside chance to create an upset.

The underdogs Rajasthan Royals have defeated Deccan chargers, the match went down to the wire, it was a dog fight, in the end Shane Warne the veteran warrior managed to guide his team home in the final over, 17 runs were required of the last over and VVS committed the fatal mistake of giving the ball to Symonds, Warne achieved the target with one ball to spare and left the Deccan chargers and the whole stadium in disbelief.

It was the second consecutive victory for the Royals and the third straight loss for the Chargers, the Royals were bolstered by the inclusion of Smith who scored 71 in his first appearance for the Royals, he was well supported by Pathan who did the bulk of the scoring earlier on and scored 61 of 28 balls with four boundaries and six 6′s, after Yousuf Pathan, Shane Watson came in to bat, the hero of the last match, he missed a faster one by Afridi and was clean bowled at 4. After Watson Kaif joined Smith and immediately started scoring he scored a brisk 34 of 16 balls with 2 4′s and 3 6′s, the Chargers were under immense pressure when Smith and Kaif were batting and it appeared as if the Royals will win the match comfortably, but Afridi removed both Smith and Kaif in the 18th over he almost had Jadeja also who was dropped, the match was quickly turned in the favor of the Chargers, from the last two overs the Royals needed 23 to win and they had 5 wickets in hand, RP Singh bowled a perfect 19th over by firing yorker after a yorker he took wickets and gave away only six runs, the last over went to Symonds who admitted in the post match interview that he probably bowled the worst over in T2o history, he also said T20 is good for cricket but not for ego, poor Roy he looked dejected, he was the second highest paid cricketer in IPL and in the first two matches he failed both with the bat and the ball, in this match he scored a highly entertaining 117 to prove his worth but failed with the ball.

This match has deflated a lot of egos, Gilly again failed, Afridi failed with bat again the poor guy is running short of excuses, after the previous match he stated that the cheer leaders were a source of distraction for him and he cannot concentrate while batting and they should be removed, what a farce? are you a professional or a pervert, you are supposed to watch the ball and not booty while batting, the guy is an excuse master, each time he will fail with the bat he will blame his captain for not sending him to open, if they send him to open and he fails he will say it was unexpected for me, the guy can just bowl  and once in a blue moon he can score runs, thats the reality which is too hard for his fans to accept, although he very well knows his own capabilities.

The Chargers were probably the most balanced team on paper and one of the most expensive outfit, in the first two matches they failed to post a big total in this match they have become the first team who could’nt defend a score of 200+.

All is not over for them they will have to find a better bowling combination to make a come back VVS made some critical mistakes his captaincy was below par.
