That’s ok! I sussed that already. Besides, we all make mistakes.
Talking about late nights, I have been meaning to but haven’t had a chance to contribute much lately. There are not enough hours in a day for me right now.
Laxman and RP Singh batted really well today and helped stretch the final target to more than 400. Their 51 run partnership could prove to be crucial and I sincerely hpoe we”l win tomorrow.
But if there is any team in Test cricket who can chase down more than 400 runs, it’s Australia. Aus would go all out to ensure 17 in a row. So even though India appear to be the favourites right now, they cannot take Aus lightly. They should currently concentrate on breaking the Ponting-Hussey partnership and then look to get the rest out tomorrow itself.
AWAS:
Thanks for correcting me, I completely forgot this is only the third day and this is the second time in this test that I have lost the day count may be staying up late at night is affecting my orientation.

I think, you have forgotten it’s a third day only. So there are well over two days reaming which is ample time to bowl a team out. Had they been able to or allowed to India would have gone on to bat at least till lunch time tomorrow.
I think Kumble should declare now, otherwise to win this match will be very difficult for India. 375 is a good target.
This match will go down to the wire. India’s big three failed this time and now all hopes are pinned on VVS and Dhoni if they manage to take India’s lead to 375, India will have a chance anything less than that their bowlers will have to repeat their performance of first innings.
Wasim,
I think Kumble should look for a win rather than settle for a draw. One day might not be enough for India to dismiss Australia. The bowlers would need more time, since in recent Test matches, India have not been successful in dismissing teams on the last day.
The Aussie batting lineup is capable of chasing down any target, but India can capitalize if the Aussies try to play too aggressively, like they did today.
But such a situation would only arise if the batsmen don’t blow away the advantage tomorrow, so day 3 would be crucial.
Samy:
There is still too much time left, the key to India’s chances will be how they bat tommorrow if they build a substantial lead then for sure they will have a chance to win but again Kumble will be in two minds as he would not like to give Australia 2 days to chase the target.
India are in a pretty good position right now… and the highlight of the day was Kumble completing 600 wickets. But I think the fast bowlers were the real stars today.
But the batsmen will have to bat smartly tomorrow. They will certainly have to bat the whole day and try to get a lead of more than 450 runs at least. And I do hope Kumble will not be too defensive in his captaincy, and if India find themselves in a favourable position at the end of day 3, he should declare and give his bowlers two full days to try and get the Aussies out, instead of declaring late and ensuring a draw.
This promises to be an exciting match… lets hope it does not get ruined by defensive captaincy or poor umpiring decisons or racism charges.
