VETTORI AND McCULLUM ROLL OVER BANGLADESH
on December 31st, 2007 at 11:39 amPosted In: Videos, video posts
Daniel Vettori took 5 for 7 and McCullum scored a 28 ball 80 to set up the most emphatic victory by Newzealand they won by 10 wickets and 264 balls to spare only three times in history of ODI”S a team has won with more balls to spare.
Newzealand reached the target of 95 runs in only 6 overs without losing a wicket ,If the target had permitted Maccullum was on his way to break Afridi’s record of 37 ball 100, he struck 9 fours and 6 sixes and completely slaughtered the Bangladesh bowling.

I am not mourning her death in any way, neither I am trying to say that Pakistanis will miss her leadership, and I also don’t deny the fact that she was chasing her own death and she put the lives of others into jeopardy, , what I am trying to say here is Musharraf has backtracked on every decision he took, when it came to harm his own interests he banned the media,he raped the judiciary, he put back life in the careers of these discarded politicians just bcz he wanted to get re-elected and he needed their votes in the assembly, and now when he didn’t needed her anymore he erased her completely and as a aftermath of this incident the whole Pakistan is burning, and you will see this incident will have longterm and grave repercussions, and the only point because of which I am utterly disgusted of him is that he has no value for the lives of ordinaryPakistanis he is slaughtering them like a flock of sheep, look at the timing of every major incident which happened under his rule starting from the Kargill war to Balochistan to Lal masjid or the swat valley on all those occasions he was cornered and he wanted a diversion and some breathing space otherwise all those issues could have been resolved through dialog.and he sacrificed so many Pakistanis in order to reach his goals, Have you ever seen these images of Pakistan before in your life was this the country you left behind.
Big deal if he has done a few good things look at how much harm he is causing now and in the present circumstances do we need him anymore?
I don’t think so. BB and Nawaz were corrupt true but this guy can sell his own mother for his own interests. All the promises he ever made he always backtracked from them. He has betrayed every single person he betrayed Nawaz, he has been betraying US (at least they now think this) and now he betrayed BB again, and not to mention those countless broken promises he made with the nation on national TV.
I don’t care who comes next, all I want is the rule of law and democracy in my country.Trust me democracy even in its worst shape is thousand times better than the rule of a person like Musharraf.

I have seen that video and many more like that on ARY, BBC, CNN etc. There is no denying she died in that incident whether bullet or bomb or that poxy sunroof lever; does it really matter The fact is it was directly related to that very shooting/bombing incident when she popped her head out of her safe vehicle. Even the newscaster in the video mentions she made the fatal mistake of coming out of the sunroof.
She had no regard for the lives of many other innocents that were ushered out of the villages to make numbers for her and died in that first incident. I feel very sorry for them and their families too. There is no doubt there are a number of scenarios of who could have planned and executed this job and we may never know who actually did it. What is clear is that there were surly pre-announced threats and when that happens you take precaution and not drag yourself and others in the jaws of death.

You missed the point my friend. No one is “absolving” Musharaf here. He started freeing the media and, as I said, he stopped that in the emergency too. Such freedom never happened before. I stated the plain facts. It will now be very difficult for anyone to turn back the clock and have one channel only in the days when that was PTV alone. Neither it seems was BB a torch-bearer of true democracy. So, I am not sure where you are coming from. I was criticising what was worth criticising. So, please do read what I said again. You are contradicting me on something I never said.
Musharraf has done nothing for Pakistan, he has turned our country into a warzone, I am surprised that people still believe that he honestly believes in freedom of media after what he did to the private channels.
Benazir and Zardari no doubt did corruption but that doesn’t absolve Musharraf of the crimes he has been committing or make him a better choice.
By creating unrest and violence he wants to create an impression as only he or the Army can control the country.
A happy new year for all, I hope the new year brings peace in the world and
stability in Pakistan.

Please check out this video.
A very happy new year to all visitors on Cricketfiles.
I missed that match on TV so it was good to see Brendon McCullum’s knock on this website. Thoroughly entertaining. To compare which was better than the other is like comparing apples with oranges. Afridi’s was against a strong team like Sri Lanka whilst the other one is against minnows in the real sense of the word which is Bangladesh. Both very entertaining knocks nevertheless.
Javed – “it’s a slap on the face of democracy”, I (am) definitely agree here. The teenager “brat” cited his mother’s saying that “democracy is the best revenge”. How can he say that after he has been appointed leader of this party? It’s supposed to be the Pakistan People’s Party, not the Bhutto party. Is this really democracy that our so called feudal politicians espouse?
Well we now have our own little king. King Tut. Long live the king! I just hope the curse doesn’t befall upon him in this valley of Bhutto kings.
The ironic thing is all her life, BB has been shouting slogans of democracy. But what she actually did was totally the opposite. In her will she nominates her own husband, a well renowned Mr 10% who soon became Mr 20% as her successor. Isn’t that precisely an act of dictatorship that she so loathed? There are surly very able seasoned politicians that Javed mentions and many more in this liberal party that could have got elected by the members in a democratic manner. So why treat the party and the country like a family fiefdom? Such good men would surly see the daylight soon and leave. The dictatorship in the guise of family clan is actually the worst kind as BB proved during her two stints of very autocratic rule. With military dictatorships one can at least say it’s as transparent a dictatorship as one can get without any hypocrisy.
I am not a fan of a military dictators but at least this current dictator has done two thing that no elected leader has ever dared do: (a) has done more for the women’s rights (that was once expected from BB) and (b) media freedom in the press and by allowing a large number of TV channels including scores of news channels (until recently curbed in emergency).
Bilawal Bhutto has only one advantage over Amin Fahim, Barrister Aitezaz and Shah Mahmood qureshi he has a better brand name and brand recognition.
Yes Brendon McCullum is better than Shahid Afridi, just like Bilawal Zardari ooops Bilawal Bhutto is better than:
Maqdoom Amin Fahim
Barrister Aitezaz Ahsan
Barrister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and a few other senior PPP leaders.
LOL @ nadeem’s comments. i agree
Good to see the video link of Brendon McCullum’s hard hitting and the way NZ crushed Bangladesh.
I was thinking that this might happen to BANGLADESH team one day because they are lacking in experience. You can build a young team under a young captain and win a couple of matches, but you cannot sustain the performance for a longer period of time unless you have a few experienced players in the team.
This is how Australia performs just Shane Warne and McGrath are out but they do have replacements (not as good as SW and GM yet good enough) but the important thing is they have a good leader in Ricky Ponting, Gilchrist the keeper and not to mention Lee.
India had too many experienced players in the side they need to jettison a few because they have become a drag. Even the choice of Kumble as a test captain is a very bad move. Dhoni should have been retained or Dravid shouldn’t have resigned earlier. Dravid’s downfall in batting right now is because of the stress that he is carrying on in trying to cement his place rather retain his place in the team. And Dhoni’s lack of form is due to the fact that he has always performed well at home. All is 4 ODI centuries carry that made in India label.
Ganguly is in form these days, but its more like the last few breaths of the gusty winter winds before the spring buds appear, he won’t last long but he should be there for sometime. Laxman and Kumble must retire from ALL forms of the game with immediate effect. They cannot get rid of Tendulkar because he is above all of them besides he is very lucky and whenever they talk of his retirement he comes up with a big score like Younus Khan and retains his position.
It is good to see the West Indies team winning against the arrogant South Africans. I reckon the WI always play against SA with some venom and that’s good for cricket. Gayle’s performance will always be very crucial in tilting the balance of the game, especially when he enters the field like a “Gale and a whirlwind storm” and demolishes every single bowling attack in the world. Remember his World Cup twenty20 performance? That is some innings to watch. I wish he plays more like that and he is a treat to watch.
Finally something about Pakistan. Reportedly the elections being postponed on Jan. 8th the unrest and troubled conditions will prevail indefinitely and there is no hope for cricket matches to be played under these circumstances. This is really a shame for cricket, and for Pakistan and especially for the PPP which has elected a 19 year old filthy rich brat of a corrupt father to lead the party, its a slap on the face of democracy and also on face of the PPP’s senior leadership. Those who accept him as the Prince of the PPP must not talk about democracy. Because this is Kingship and not democracy.
Anyways, today being the last day of the year, I wish you ALL, “A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. “
McCullum is better than Afridi, this is for sure, and Bangladesh should play minnow teams like Pakistan and Zimbabwe.
Absolutely brilliant victory for the Kiwis. They were really struggling, after losing to SA. Awesome recovery by them. This win would surely have restored their confidence.
What was striking was that Jimmy How scored only 7 runs out of the 94 required; the rest were extras and that superb 28-ball 80 by McCullum… it was all over in 30 mins. Vettori missed the record of the best figures by a bowler by only 1 run (the record is with Sunil Joshi- 5 for 6).
I thought Bangladesh would become a force to reckon with after the 2007 WC. But they have returned to their old ways. Maybe they are missing Whatmore.
Anyway, it was a treat for cricket fans.
Bangladesh should compete with minnow teams like Kenya, Ireland etc . They should stay away from the top 6-7 teams.

MacCullum is no Afridi but NZ have shown Bangladesh what a poor team BANG are.
Bangladesh are losing so many matches, it is a wonder why they are still benefiting from “Test” status. They are even more pathetic in Tests.
